We’d like to thank the participants of the 2nd AMIMOTO: WordPress + AWS Singapore meetup held on 22 October 2015.
The event aims to share to participants about WordPress, AWS, what you can do with WordPress on AWS and how to self-host your site with AMIMOTO HHVM.
AMIMOTO is a pre-configured OS & virtual app software that is a combination of HHVM, Nginx & Reverse Proxy Cache, allowing users to control it with Nginx Cache Controller GUI (plugin).
AMIMOTO makes use of EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud), which makes it easy to scale up and down to meet various traffic demands.
Friendly for users of all tech levels
AMIMOTO can be launched with 1-click via AWS Marketplace making it friendly for users.
With git and WP-CLI installed, it’s also WordPress-developer friendly.
AMIMOTO vs. Bitnami performance test
AMIMOTO is available in 9 Global regions. Other speed factors include WP Booster CDN, performance tuning, NGINX and HHVM.
HHVM Performance Tests
Sites · Issues · Solutions by WordPress & AWS
Popular Blog Site
Solution: With Amazon EC2 scalable capacity, it stops users from guessing how much resources they really need.
Large-scale Media Site
Issue: Unexpected peaks, scalability issues, high PV
Solution: Autoscaling is for apps with stable demand patterns & different usage daily, weekly.
On high demand, it automatically increases the number of EC2 instances to maintain performance.
Huge Enterprise Site
Issue: has to be multisite, multilingual and high speed
Solution: 1 AMIMOTO instance can have multiple WordPress installs. With WordPress, users can install their preferred multilingual plugins and for speed issue there are pre-installed performance plugins such as NGINX Cache Controller.
Issue: Some issues of news sites include having thousands of posts, multiple authors and sudden traffic surge.
Solution: With WordPress, users can manage multiple users and assign access levels and capabilities to each user.
There is also The WP Booster CDN that’s already pre-installed in WordPress Powered by AMIMOTO HHVM. The WP Booster CDN helps improve speed for better user experience.
